When we were kids and highlights were the rage for a “summer look,” we put apple cider vinegar and water in a spray bottle and sprayed our hair before we got into the boat to water ski the day away! It worked great!
If we got sunburned we gently washed the burn with apple cider vinegar. It cooled almost instantly!

When I was a kid we were required to show evidence of breakfast by leaving our cereal bowl in the sink on Sat. morning BEFORE we could have a bowl of ice cream while watching cartoons. So I would eat a small amount of Cheerios, leave one or two in the bowl with a drizzle of milk and put it in the sink. Then I would make a big bowl of ice cream with Hershey’s syrup, Spanish peanuts and whipped cream and enjoy my cartoons.

After a bit of a break in writing my blog, several have asked me to start again. And so today I am doing that. I am not sure I will continue to use this site but for now, I figured out how to set it up (remember I am not techie) and I can add entries. So here is the first one for 2012. Ever watch a sleepy baby? She may lay down in the middle of an activity or cry till put to her bed, or show a temper. My daughter would lay down in the middle of the floor or put her head on her high chair tray in the middle of a meal and be sound asleep. It took some time for me to learn from her example.

A few weeks ago I sustained a life changing back injury as the result of being thrown from a horse (not my own horse!). I landed on my right hip, bounced in the air and landed on my tailbone, bounced in the air and landed again on my right hip. My landing spot was a pile of large, sharp- edged stones and I lost all feeling in my extremities and of course had the breath knocked out of me.
